O Jornal Hoje informou em uma reportagem que a polícia federal cumpriu, no último dia 26 (quarta-feira), um total de 19 mandados de busca e apreensão em uma operação para combater fraudes no pagamento do benefício Seguro Defeso, em Palmas.

A operação, intitulada “Operação Traíra” estima que foram feitos R$ 800 mil em pagamentos irregulares. A polícia Federal descobriu que, em Palmas, pessoas com outras profissões, como mecânicos e comerciantes, se cadastraram nas associações de pescadores e conseguiram o cadastro geral de atividade pesqueira que é emitido pelo ministério da agricultura. Dessa forma, tinham acesso ao seguro após se habilitarem no INSS.

A PF também investiga os representantes das associações de pescadores de Palmas. Os suspeitos podem responder por estelionato e organização criminosa.
